Akṣara & Shoveen’s Haldi & Sangeet Night

Witness the love tale, painted yellow!

The afternoon begins with the auspicious Haldi ceremonies for the bride and groom and as the sun sets, bring your best moves for an electrifying Sangeet Night!

Tradition Meets Celebration

This evening is a vibrant mix of two essential pre-wedding rituals:

The Haldi Ceremony: This sacred ritual involves applying a paste of turmeric and natural ingredients to the couple. Haldi is believed to purify the skin, ward off evil, and bless the couple with prosperity, symbolising a bright new journey together.

The Sangeet Night: Meaning “sung together,” the Sangeet is a joyous, music-filled social gathering designed to relieve pre-wedding stress. This is the night for family dances, singing, and non-stop celebration!

Common Questions

Here are some important details about the Haldi & Sangeet event.

The Haldi application will follow traditional customs:

  • The ritual will first be performed by the chosen married ladies of the family.
  • Afterward, the floor will be open to all guests who wish to offer their blessings by applying Haldi.

Our dress code is Hues of Sunshine. We encourage wearing Indian attire in colors such as yellow, red, orange, peach, and gold. Please note that the Haldi paste can sometimes stain, so you may wish to avoid wearing your most delicate or expensive clothing if you plan to participate in the Haldi ritual.

We are delighted to share that a delicious vegetarian buffet will be served starting at 6PM.

A selection of non-alcoholic refreshments will be served. To keep the focus on the vibrant traditions and celebrations, we will not be providing alcohol at the venue. However, guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages (BYOB) to enjoy during the event.

Yes! We want the Sangeet to be a night of non-stop dancing. You can submit your favorite song requests using the form below!
